SPOT HIDDEN CAMERAS- 5 SIMPLEST WAYS!

Using your cell phone

SPOT HIDDEN CAMERAS- using mobilephone

The first and the easiest way to detect a recording device is by using your cell phone. You have to see if your phone can make a random call in a trial/hotel room or not!

If the call gets connected without any disturbance then you need not to worry. But if your mobile phone has network outside the room and as soon as you enter the trial room, the network is lost or you are not able to make a call. Then, this disturbance must be due to a probable recording device in your room that you are not aware of!

Turning off the lights– SPOT HIDDEN CAMERAS

Turning off lights

As soon as you enter the room, you have to turn on the lights manually. If I can suggest you something, don’t just turn on the lights as soon as you get into the room. Take a few moments to observe all the walls. That’s because, it is very easy to spot a blinking red colour or a green colour light.

Majority of the cameras and recording devices starts blinking as we turn them on. And it is not that difficult to spot a red or green coloured blinking light in a dark room. That’s what you have to stay aware of.

Age-old Mirror Test– SPOT HIDDEN CAMERAS

Age-old Mirror test- SPOT HIDDEN CAMERAS

So now, third on our list is age-old mirror test which I am sure you must have heard of. But in case you don’t know what it is, then you must read this carefully.

It is very simple, all that you have to do is to touch your finger at the surface of a mirror. Make sure that the image of your finger and your original finger have a distance between them. If there is a distance, then the mirror is normal and you don’t need to worry about anything.

But, if the image and your finger have no distance between them, then it means that what you are touching on is actually a glass! The glass that seems a mirror to us and somebody on that side is able to see everything.

Mobile Application

Hidden Camera Detector application

Now the 4th thing that we have is a mobile phone application called- Hidden Camera Detector. If you find something and you feel that this could be a probable recording device, you have to switch on the app. You have to run your phone over that object and your phone will start beeping.

So, it’s like a scanner. It is free of cost and it has its own set of limitations.

Searching for a network

Last but not the least is, again you have to use your mobile phone. You have to turn on a network. You have to search for a network on your mobile phone. And now your device will start scanning everything that could be surrounding you in your room.

Majority of good quality cameras and recording devices today work on wi-fi. If your device is detecting anything which ends with the name-cam or camera or audio, that’s it! Now it’s now the time for you to leave the room right away!

So, that was it for today’s blog. I hope you liked it and found it useful!

Personally, I think that if we can rely on something, then it’s our own vision, observation and common sense.

If you are a tech-guy or a tech-girl and you know about spy cameras, then please share the information that you have in the comment box.

Please don’t forget to share this with your loved ones!

I promise to get back with another blog as soon as possible. Till then,
